The project
A welcoming and landscaped place to live, the Esplanade is also designed to host large-scale cultural events. Reminiscent of Bègles’ railway past, the square is gridded from rails to cars planted with trees, for evolutionary use. Surrounding the square, the sloping silhouettes of the Structure K masts, like peach poles, are another nod to the city’s old morutier activity.
